(New Board Director Appointed for National Enterprise Development Authority)

The National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA), which exists under the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, has appointed Mr. Ilham Maraikar, who is an Entrepreneur and a Senior lecturer from Puttalam as its Board Director.

This appointment has been given under the recommendation made by the Minister of Commerce and Industries , Hon. Rishard Badiudeen.

The National Enterprise Development Authority is responsible for all the private and public sectors’ business ventures and for the developments in both sectors.

Here, the self employment enhancements, empowerment of the private sector, career guidance’s, formation of village level employment movements, self employment guidance’s and incentives for the unemployed graduates, training’s to handle the employment resources in a better way, formation of national and village level trade fairs, provision of training’s and employments to women and many other services are being provided to the Sri Lankan citizens, by this authority.

Ilham Maraikar is the son of a Principal Late. Seinudeen Maraikar and Mrs. Mehar Naima and an old boy of Puttalam and Colombo Zahira Colleges.

And also Ilham Maraikar is the Director of Colombo Amazon College, the President of CBS Foundation and Active Counselors’ Forum  and also the Education Coordinator of the Human Rights organization.

Ilham Maraikar has graduated in the field of Counselling & Psychology and has completed his Master studies in the same field and presently continues his PhD in the Psychiatric field.

Also, he has conducted many Anti Drug Adiction Programmes, seminars on Child psychology, teacher guidance programmes, educational guidance programmes for the students, etc. He has conducted almost more than 100 programmes in many districts throughout the country.

He has been awarded with the Abdhul Kalaam award in the year 2018, by the government of India.
